                                                MY BACKSTORY

It was August 28, 2005, in the city of Thimphu, where colorful flags danced in the wind. I was born to  Pema Tshomo and Yeshi Wangdi, who were overjoyed to welcome their new arrival. I am the middle child of our family, with an older brother and a younger sister. Growing up, I always felt like I had to prove myself and set a good example for my siblings. It wasn't easy, but I knew that I had to excel in my studies and take on responsibilities at home.

My mom worked long hours to provide for us, so I took on the role of helping out around the house and making sure my siblings were taken care of. From cooking dinner to helping with homework, I did whatever I could to lighten my mom's load.

My older brother was always off doing his own thing, leaving me to take care of my younger sister . I had to be the responsible one, making sure she got to school on time and had something to eat for dinner. It was a heavy burden for a young girl like me to bear, but I did it without complaint.

Despite my best efforts, life was never easy for us. Money was always tight, and there were times when we didn't know where our next meal was coming from. Our small apartment was falling apart at the seams, with leaky pipes and creaky floorboards serving as constant reminders of our struggles.

But through it all, I never lost hope. I held on to the belief that things would get better, that one day we would break free from the cycle of poverty and hardship that had defined our lives for so long. And I was determined to be the one to make it happen.

I worked hard in school, earning top marks and excelling in all my classes. Education was my ticket out of poverty, and I wasn't about to let it slip through my fingers. I poured myself into my studies, determined to create a better future for myself and my family.

The road was long and arduous, filled with late nights of studying and early mornings of attending classes. But I never wavered in my determination to succeed.

I was determined to succeed in school, as education was my ticket to a better future. I spent hours studying and doing homework, always striving for excellence. My hard work paid off, and I was at the top of my class.

Despite the challenges I faced, I never gave up. I knew that my family was counting on me, and I wasn't about to let them down. My siblings looked up to me, and I wanted to show them that with hard work and determination, anything is possible.

Looking back, I am grateful for the challenges I faced growing up. They shaped me into the person I am today – a strong young lady , I knew that my life was going to be far from easy. Growing up as the middle child in a family of five, with one older brother and one younger sister, I often felt like I was invisible. My parents were always busy working long hours to make ends meet, leaving me to fend for myself in the chaos of our cramped apartment.
