Ngawang Tobgyel (12 sci)

  THE JOURNEY OF GROWTH

My name is Ngawang Tobgyel  and my story begins in the breath-taking valley of Punakha in Dribjokha where I came into this world in December 25, 2003(Thursday) to my mother kaka and father Tashi Penjor . I was given the name as Passang Wangdi by my grandparents  but however fate had other plans for me .In a twist of events I encountered a series of challenges that would alter me to  the course of my life forever .Due to un foreseen circumstances   and an ancient belief  in the power of names , I found myself to change my name to  Ngawang Tobgyel  a name embodied with new meaning  and significance .

At the age of 3 my mother gave birth to my sister (passang Wangmo) in the valley of punakha where I was born. I was now between two sisters and the middle child in the family at the age of 5 my parents decided to move to Thimphu for the better future. we settled at Bjemina the present place where we had our own land. At the age of 6 my journey towards education begins Yum Thinley choden charity school where I took my first steps into the world of learning. surrounded by supportive teachers and eager classmates. it is charity school that provides students with free education, free school fees together with uniforms and stationery items.my primary level went on till class six at same school and sadly had to go for secondary level to another school.

i transitioned to khasadrapchu middle secondary school  for my secondary  education .it was 6km away from my home .we had to go by school bus , and slowly it became a normal schedule .while I was in khasadrapchu middle secondary school  I met two best friend who changed my life  we became neighbours and spent lots of time enjoying   together by playing football together  in the fields we also shared secrets within ourself and even promised that we won't use illegal substances or be in relationship but instead to focus on studies.

At the age of 17 my mother gave birth to my younger sister (NgawangTshoki Seldon) in the valley of thimphu were my elder sister ( Tshozin Tshering Tshomo  was born in 2002) in the valley of thimphu  . I was now the only son in the family of 3 daughter. I had the role of an elder brother and had to take care my two younger sisters. when I was in class 9 there was an outbreak of Covid 19 in our country and was kept under lockdown for 6 month during that I have seen and heard  many parents  struggling  from shortage of  money as offices and shops were closed and everything  became really expensive  even  a kilo of onion was 150 per kg  and since students had to take online class   it made more worries  for parents in purchasing mobile  to their  children.

When I was in tenth grade, we were kept in school without seeing our parents one month before appearing exam. we were divided and given rooms according   to our location. students from same location were kept together and taught in same class and were not allowed to talk with other students and share things except from same location.  we had tough time follwing the rule and as being first time away from parents we had difficult in waking and wearing my gho . right after we were done with exam, we were sent to home we were   eagerly waiting to meet our parents

After spending four unforgettable years together in the same school, we had gone to higher grade and we the friends had to go apart into different school. I came to Wangbama central school for my education.

Studying at Wangbama centra School has been an enlightening journey, albeit with its challenges. Transitioning to hostel life for the first time in Class 11 presented unforeseen obstacles, ultimately leading to academic setbacks. The initial excitement of independence was overshadowed by the demands of adapting to a new environment. Struggling to find a balance between studies, social interactions, and self-care proved daunting. As a result, the academic performance suffered, culminating in failure. However, this setback has served as a profound learning experience. It has instilled resilience, perseverance, and a deeper understanding of the importance of time management and self-discipline. Moving forward, I am determined to turn this setback into a steppingstone for future success, armed with valuable lessons learned from the challenges faced during my time at Wangbama central School. And my story ends here in twelfth grade taking a role of time prefct and trying my best to accomplish my goal
